Founded in 2017 by Grammy-award winning Eighth Blackbird, the Creative Lab is a groundbreaking, immersive residency that brings together composers, performers, and creative technologists to develop and perform new works. Through collaboration, experimentation, and mentorship, the Lab pushes boundaries and explores new frontiers in art, technology, and the creative process.

The Creative Lab offers a multi-faceted experience designed to nurture the growth of both the artist and the work. The residency encompasses a range of artist-focused initiatives, from developing new compositions and exploring innovative performance techniques, to diving deep into the practical side of creative careers, such as grant writing, artist entrepreneurship, and maintaining a healthy life-work-art balance.
